1. Parking
permits are only valid in designated marked parking spaces for the nonexclusive
use of residential or employee permit holders in the following municipal
parking lots:
1. Foster
Street Municipal Lot
2. Nichols
Lane Municipal Lot
3. Mill
Street Municipal Lot
4. Central
Street Municipal Lot
5. Railroad Avenue Municipal Lot
2. The annual parking permit cost covers one year from the date of issuance (start date).
3. Parking permits are not valid until the City of Peabody confirms that payment is received and processed.
4. Payments for parking permits are non-refundable.
5. Parking permits are in the form of virtual ePermits that utilize the vehicle’s license plate number. Physical parking permits will not be provided.
6. A parking permit authorizes a maximum of one vehicle to park as indicated in 1) above. Parking permits are not transferable except when transferring to a new car. In the event of transferring to a new car, new vehicle registration must be submitted, and the change must be recorded at the Parking Clerk’s Office.
7. Permit holders are responsible for ensuring that their vehicle license plates are correctly entered into the system and that the most updated account information is present in the system, including the current license plate number. Entering the incorrect information or failure to keep updated information in the system may result in a parking citation and/or being towed because enforcement systems rely on what is in the system at the time of enforcement.
8. Parking permits are limited and are issued on a first come, first serve basis. All permit parking privileges are subject to the availability of a parking space on a first-come, first-served basis.
9. Residential parking permits will not be issued for trucks or commercial vehicles.
10. Residential parking permit holders shall not park vehicles in the same parking space for more than 48 consecutive hours.
11. Employee parking permit holders shall not park vehicles in the same parking space for more than 12 consecutive hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
12. When Emergency Parking Bans are in effect, if the ban is rescinded prior to midnight the vehicle must be removed within two (2) hours of rescission. If the ban is rescinded after midnight, the vehicle must be removed prior to 8:00 a.m.

14. Penalty for violation of Section 19-108.1 or Section 19-108.3 is $30.00 per offense [19-117; Group B] or may result in towing of vehicle.
15. Liability is limited as stated herein. The account holder for any parking permit waives and releases any claim for injury, damage, or loss resulting directly or indirectly from any action or failure to act by the City of Peabody and its employees, including but not limited to, any loss of vehicle or contents, or any damage to vehicle by vandalism, theft, or accident. Parking permit holders are advised not to leave articles of personal property of any value in the vehicle and agree not to hold the City of Peabody responsible for loss of property or damages resulting from loss of property left in the vehicle.
16. The City of Peabody may cancel the account and revoke any parking permit for any reason by providing the account holder with written notice of such cancellation.
